A Campfire Discussion on the Flame in the Flood

This week on the cast, I spoke with CEO and lead designer at Molasses Flood Forrest Dowling on the development of the Flame in the Flood and his thoughts on several modern game industry trends.

Flame in the Flood

We started off with talking about Forrest’s background and his time at Irrational Games before founding Molasses Flood. Our next topic was talking about the initial creation of the Flame in the Flood, putting it on Kickstarter and Forrest’s thoughts on the model. After that, we talked more about Early Access and Forrest’s thoughts on the model.

For our final topic, we talked more about the development of The Flame in the Flood, and I asked Forrest if that title meant anything special.

One thing to note, there is a scratching noise on the cast that I couldn’t get rid of; Forrest’s beard was brushing up against the mic and I just couldn’t get it isolated to remove.

  • What was that game he mentioned that was having a hard time getting funded on Kickstarter? It is at the 44:25 mark and sound like Lights and Nights. I searched for every variation of that title but couldn’t find anything.
