We returned to horror this week on the cast. James and I sat down with the designer of the upcoming game When Wounds Bloom: George, for a discussion on everything horror-related.
The original Amnesia was another title that while I found intriguing, ultimately bored me. With the change in developers to The Chinese Room I had a feeling that a Machine for Pigs wasn’t going to be a sequel that improves things. And I was completely right and we have a game that is definitely ranked high on my list of worse games of 2013.
Moving from the indie market, my next game was a full blown AAA title and an attempt to revive survival horror following the Resident Evil series transformation. Dead Space got atmosphere and enemy design right, but went too far with giving the player power.
My next game that failed in making me scared is the mysterious Knock-Knock from Ice Pick Lodge. Another game that went for an unusual situation, unfortunately this was a case of a game being too unusual.
