This week on the cast, I sat down with Roel Ezendam ( who I’m afraid I mispronounced his name several times) from Rage Squid to discuss his studio and the work that is going on with their game Action Henk.
Nuclear Throne is the latest game from Vlambeer, a developer whose previous titles have all kept to a retro theme. This time the developers are combining retro shooting with the rogue-like genre and while the game is still in early access, it is shaping up to be a chaotic good time.
Action Henk developed by Rage Squid goes in a different direction with the speed run genre compared to the highly regarded Trials series. Where Trials focused on technical play which was both satisfying and demanding, Action Henk goes for more of a platforming angle and delvers on the easy to learn, difficult to master mantra.
Infinifactory is the latest game from Zachtronics whose previous puzzle game Spacechem became one of the most praised and cursed at puzzle titles of 2011 thanks to its challenging gameplay and open-ended design. With Infinifactory, Zach returns to the genre in 3D to give gamers another good reason to challenge their critical thinking abilities.
