This week on the cast I spoke to Daniel Doan and Raquel Hayner of Black Shell Media about the work that goes into being an Indie publisher.
After introductions were finished, Daniel and Raquel talked about how Black Shell Media went into the role of an Indie publisher. Raquel, who is head of marketing, talked about her day to day work with Indie developers.
We talked about the challenges of many indie developers who have to learn how to do marketing with their game, and why publishers like Black Shell Media have become a popular option to help developers who can’t/aren’t able to do that.
A major point we talked about were some do’s and don’ts when you are reaching out to a publisher or doing marketing on your own. Both Daniel and Raquel had some thoughts on this and is a good listen for developers out there.
