Today’s Critical Thought looks at the clash between gameplay vs story. As developers have been trying to evolve the medium, there are examples of when a game becomes disjointed. The main example is from the latest Tomb Raider games and how Lara Croft really comes off as a poorly-defined character because of it. I also talked about a few cases where the story and mechanics were better synced in other games.
