Today on the Perceptive Podcast, I sat down with the creative director of Logic Artist Jonas Waever to talk about how the studio began, their first kickstarter project and what’s coming up next for the studio with Clandestine.
We started with introductions and how Logic Artists were founded before going into their first kickstarter for the game Expeditions Conquistadors. I asked him about the challenges of the platform and what he thinks about crowd-funding in general. We also talked about the publisher/developer relationship and how it impacts making games and the importance of good PR.
With Clandestine in Early Access, I asked Jonas about his thoughts on the model and how it affected their development of Clandestine. We also talked about some other recent trends in the game industry including the Rift and Steambox.
After that, we moved on to Logic Artist’s games starting with Expeditions Conquistadors — How the game was originally conceived, the mechanics and even where the beautiful still art portraits came from.
Finally we spoke more about Clandestine and what Logic Artists and Jonas are hoping the game to become as it gets further into development on Early Access. We also spoke about some of the challenges of the Early Access model in terms of continued updates and talking to the fans.
