This week, Ken and I were joined by returning guest Charles Amis from Artizens. Continuing my topic from last week, we talked about the recent debate on sales and followed that talking about art design.
We started off catching up with Charles and Artizens who have sadly had some back luck with the game before talking about sales. We talked about how games have become devalued over the years and how it seems some developers are managing to avoid it such as Nintendo and Blizzard. This also led to us talking about Diablo 3 and in a rare moment, we had a two part harmony to describe our feelings on it.
For the second part of our talk, we discussed art design following my post last week on loud vs. quiet art design. Examining examples of both and the challenges that Charles and his team faced with coming up with Artizen’s art style.
And for those wondering if we were planning on talking about the latest kerfuffle that is going on in the Game Industry, I addressed that at the end of the cast.
- Here is last week’s cast where we started talking about game sales and my post on art design
